DAY 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ouarzazate – Zagora

After breakfast, we depart to Ouarzazate via the High Atlas through the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass (2260 m) with stops to enjoy the panoramic views. We will visit the Argan oil cooperative to learn about the making process and the benefits for the human body. After lunch, we will continue south towards Zagora, where we will arrive in the afternoon. We will then ride on dromedaries to admire the sunset from the dunes. Overnight stay in a jaima (a Berber tent).

DAY 2: Zagora – Agdez – Aït Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

We will get up early to enjoy the sunrise from the dunes. After breakfast, we ride on the dromedaries back to Zagora. Once there, we get back to the 4×4 car to cross the Anti-Atlas to Ouarzazate and to visit the Taourirt kasbah. We will then continue to the site of Aït Ben Haddou, which is the famous ksar (fortified village) declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. This is a striking example of southern Moroccan architecture. Renowned films such as Gladiator, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara (starring Penelope Cruz) have been shot in this spectacular setting. After lunch and some rest, we will return to Marrakech through the High Atlas, arriving at your hotel or riad in the late evening.
